“How’s one of God’s strongest soldiers doing?”
Man beat up! When did God make me a part of this strong army club? I don’t remember signing up, getting the email, I ain’t been to nan one meeting and somehow I’m not even just the soldier, honey I’m chief in command standing on the front lines. Lol, such a trip!
Nonetheless I have been called, and thankful to serve the Lord humbly, but do y’all ever have those moments of just defeat? In the middle of the battle just wanting to wave the flag and say “Lord I’ve done what I can I just need to lay down and rest.”?
Sometimes you want to wave the flag because you feel like the enemy has surrounded you. You thought you had more than enough men, you came up with a game plan, you’ve studied and trained and yet when you get to fighting you just see a huge war that you’re not sure you’re gonna win.
Walking with the Lord fully has been the most serious commitment I have ever made in my life.
I was the type that if things are getting too hot in the kitchen man I’m straight out of there no questions asked.
Ain’t no shame in waving my white flag I was waving that mug proudly.
But since walking with the Lord I had to pick up the discipline to see things through and trust in Him to lead me through whatever it is, even an attack from the enemy.
One thing they don’t tell you is that the enemy is persistent, resist him and he will flee but he’s like a pest that wants to nag and get under your skin until you fold and try and convince you since you folded the last time might as well keep folding until you look up and see you're more in his hands than the Lord’s.
He’ll keep setting traps because he wants to knock you off your track.
I'm starting to really pick up discipline in this season of my walk. I’ve made the choice to give up smoking and drinking to save my mind from the world and I’ve been doing good so praise the Lord because He is so good. Though there is still a voice in the back of my head, even now as I write, that tries to ask me “you sure you really done with doing all that?”, my walk with the Lord has given me strength to stand firm.
I’m focusing on healing and releasing sooo much that self medicating prevented from uprooting the pain. The issue I struggle with from time to time is I’m doing my best to stand firm and I feel weary. How long do I have to fight? How long do I need to resist the devil before he leaves me alone forever? I feel like I’m running out of ammo God and it feels like it's just me out there…and I can’t do it by myself.
The minute you think about slipping up you call immediately on the Lord because He is who will protect you who will come to your rescue.
When Moses was about to die the next person in line to lead the Israelites into the land the Lord had promised them was Joshua. Moses knew this was a big task, something he himself even shied away from because he felt he was not worthy enough or wasn’t capable enough to do himself. So he encouraged Joshua and spoke life into him and reminded him on the God he was serving stating in
Deuteronomy 31:8 NLT “Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD will personally go ahead of you. He will be with you; he will neither fail you nor abandon you.”
And when we say God is good and respond with all the time, do you believe that to just be empty words?
If you believe God is good all the time, would you think that a good God would see you in the midst of battle and not hail down holy ghost fire to slay your enemies, your demons, your adversities, your obstacles, your burdens to bring you out victorious?
In Matthew 7:7-8 NLT the Lord is urging us to call out to Him, reach out, search for Him and He shall answer you for he says “ Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.”
Who knows, but God, what's on the other side of your discipline, of your resilience and dedication? When you push through, when you persevere, when you plow through the battle and defeat the enemy, know that the Lord your God is always and was always with you and will forever have you.
The short story of Elisha’s servant in 2 Kings 6:8-16 NLT of the bible is a big testament of how God will forever show up for His children.
The King of Aram was at war with Israel. When Elisha would hear the plans of the Aram King to destroy Israel Elisha would warn the King of Israel and the Aram King’s plans would fail.
When the Aram King heard that Elisha was a traitor telling his secrets, he gathered his army to go out to the city in which Elisha lived to find and seize him. The Aram King’s army surrounded that whole city ready for every and anything and it frightened Elisha’s servant.

The servant cried out in verse 15 saying “Oh, sir, what will we do now?” unaware of what Elisha himself saw. Elisha said to the young man “Don’t be afraid! For there are more on our side than on theirs!” And in that moment Elisha prayed to God to ask that He open the young man’s eyes. In verse 16 it says “and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire.”
When you look up, know you are looking up at your help which is your God. If you ever heard either your mom, auntie, grandad, grandmother or anybody in your life that's lived and seen some things and heard them say “ look to the hills for where which cometh my help” that is what they are referring to.

Know that you serve a God that will surround your enemies that surround you. Know that you serve a God that will answer you the moment you cry out. Know that you serve a God that says “I will neither leave you nor forsake you.
You don’t serve a sometimey God that only shows up sometimes.
No.
Your God shows up all the time.
Keep pushing that work in Him, stay faithful, stay locked in, don’t fold, stay prayed all the way up, and when you feel like you’re in the trenches fighting for your life to stay afloat…look to the hills for which cometh your help.
I love you.
